AI Tools Today: ChatGPT builds slide decks, GPT-6 Pro runs agents in parallel, and Twilio's Voice Integrity adds Verizon

OpenAI added Slides to ChatGPT for Pro, Business and Enterprise users and updated GPT-6 Pro so it can split a task across several agents at once, and Twilio extended Voice Integrity to Verizon so business calls are less likely to be flagged as spam on all three major US networks. Plus Sunday's mortgage rates and a new NAHB survey on construction labor shortages.

AI Tools Today: ChatGPT builds slide decks, GPT-6 Pro runs agents in parallel, and Twilio's Voice Integrity adds Verizon

OpenAI shipped two ChatGPT updates on October 16, one that builds and edits slide decks and one that lets GPT-6 Pro work on several parts of a job at the same time, and Twilio extended its spam label protection for business calls to Verizon the same day. We close with Sunday’s mortgage rates from Zillow’s lender marketplace data and a new survey from the National Association of Home Builders on trade labor shortages.

ChatGPT can now build, edit and present slide decks

OpenAI added Slides to ChatGPT on October 16, and it builds a presentation from your conversation, from files you upload, from an outline or from an example deck whose style you want it to follow. You can edit the slides yourself, invite teammates to work on the same deck at the same time and present straight from ChatGPT, and on the web you can export the deck to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides, while the desktop app can open it in PowerPoint or Keynote when those apps are installed. It is rolling out to eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users who have access to Space, which is the area in ChatGPT that keeps a project’s pages, files and related work together so you can share it and keep building on it. (OpenAI)

Price: OpenAI lists no separate price for Slides, and the plans that include it are ChatGPT Business at $20 per seat per month billed annually or $25 billed monthly, ChatGPT Pro at $100, $200 or $500 per month, and Enterprise at custom pricing (ChatGPT Business pricing, ChatGPT Pro tiers)

For your office: upload last quarter’s leasing report or a listing’s activity summary, give ChatGPT one of your past listing presentations as the example deck, and export the result to PowerPoint so your team can check every number before it goes in front of an owner or a seller.

GPT-6 Pro in ChatGPT gets faster and can run several agents at once

OpenAI updated GPT-6 Pro in the ChatGPT chat tab on October 16, and the update brings faster responses and better use of plugins and tools, which are the add-ons that let ChatGPT search, read files and work inside other apps. It can also run several agents in parallel, which means it splits a big request into parts and has a separate AI helper work on each part at the same time, and you can follow each one’s progress in the conversation and review what each finished. The update is rolling out to eligible Pro users, and in company workspaces it depends on the workspace settings and on rollout eligibility. (OpenAI)

Price: ChatGPT Pro is offered at $100, $200 and $500 per month (ChatGPT Pro tiers)

For your office: if you are on Pro, give GPT-6 Pro one request that covers three comparable sales, the zoning notes and the rent survey for a property you are pricing, and check each agent’s finished part against your own sources before you put any of it in front of a client.

Twilio Voice Integrity now covers Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile

Twilio announced on October 16 that Voice Integrity now supports Verizon, so the service now covers all three major US networks together with AT&T and T-Mobile. Voice Integrity registers your business details and the phone numbers you call out from with the analytics companies the carriers rely on, which helps the networks recognize your calls as a real business and can cut down on blocked calls and “spam likely” labels. Customers already enrolled were registered with the Verizon side automatically and have nothing to do, and new users need an approved Twilio Business Profile with an EIN or DUNS number, a US business address, an authorized contact with a US phone number and a working https website, and only numbers assigned to that profile can be registered. Twilio lists Voice Integrity as a Public Beta product. (Twilio changelog, Twilio docs)

Price: price not published for Voice Integrity, and Twilio lists outbound calls to US and Canadian numbers at $0.0140 per minute (Twilio Voice pricing)

For your office: if your lead follow up calls, showing confirmations or maintenance callbacks go out through Twilio numbers, ask whoever manages your Twilio account to confirm each of those numbers sits on your approved Business Profile and is registered for Voice Integrity, so your calls reach owners, tenants and buyers on Verizon with a clean caller label.

In the industry

Zillow lender marketplace data reported by Yahoo Finance on the morning of October 18 put the 30-year fixed mortgage rate at 7.14%, down 30 basis points from last week, and the 15-year fixed rate at 6.59%, down 18 basis points, with the 30-year fixed refinance rate at 7.18%. A basis point is one hundredth of a percentage point, so this is a good week to rerun payment estimates for buyers who stepped back when rates were higher. (Yahoo Finance)

The National Association of Home Builders surveyed 415 builders in September, and more than half reported shortages in framing crews, rough carpentry, finished carpentry, masons and concrete workers, with drywall at 49% and plumbers and electricians at 47% each. Across the nine trades NAHB tracks, 47% of builders reported shortages, up from 42% in April 2025, which is worth building into schedules and contingencies on any development or renovation budget you are pricing now.
