AI Tools Today: Gmail's AI Inbox and Gmail Live reach paid Workspace accounts, and Claude Code Review is generally available

Google brought two Gmail AI features to paid Workspace accounts on October 15, and Anthropic made Code Review generally available for Claude Team and Enterprise plans the same day. We close with this morning’s mortgage rates from Zillow’s lender marketplace data.

Gmail’s AI Inbox is rolling out to paid Workspace accounts

Google announced on October 15 that AI Inbox is reaching paid Google Workspace accounts, and it gives you two things at the top of Gmail: suggested to-dos, which pull action items, deliverables and deadlines out of your email conversations, and topics to catch up on, which summarize long threads and fast moving discussions, including recent decisions and status changes. You open it from the menu in Gmail on the desktop or in the mobile app, and for now it works only for users in the U.S. with their language set to English (US). Accounts on Google’s Rapid Release schedule started seeing it on October 12 and accounts on the Scheduled Release schedule start on October 26, and in both cases Google says it can take up to 15 days to appear. (Google Workspace Updates)

Price: Google lists AI Inbox for Business Starter, Standard and Plus and Enterprise Starter, Standard and Plus, and the per user rate for each plan is on Google’s pricing page (Google Workspace Updates, Google Workspace pricing)

For your office: open AI Inbox first thing on Monday and work through the suggested to-dos, so the offer deadlines, inspection dates and renewal notices sitting inside long threads with buyers, owners and tenants are on your list before the week gets going.

Gmail Live lets you ask your inbox questions out loud

Gmail Live is a voice search inside the Gmail app on Android and iPhone, and Google started rolling it out to paid Workspace users on October 15. You tap Live in the Gmail search bar, ask a question about your email out loud, and Gemini answers in a voice you choose, with a card under each answer that shows the email the answer came from so you can check it. It is on by default for organizations that have Gemini in Workspace, it works in the U.S. with the language set to English (US), and Google says it can take up to 15 days to show up on every account. (Google Workspace Updates)

Price: Google lists Gmail Live for Workspace Business Starter, Standard and Plus and Enterprise Starter, Standard and Plus, and for personal accounts on Google AI Plus at $4.99 per month, Google AI Pro at $19.99 per month and Google AI Ultra starting at $99.99 per month (Google Workspace Updates, Google AI plans)

For your office: while you are parked between showings, tap Live and ask what the buyer’s lender said in the latest email about the appraisal or the closing date, then open the source card and read the original message before you call your client back.

Claude Code Review is generally available for Team and Enterprise plans

Anthropic made Code Review generally available on October 15 for Claude Team and Enterprise plans, and it has Claude read every pull request in your GitHub repositories (a pull request is a proposed change to your code that waits for approval before it goes live, and GitHub is where many developers keep that code). Claude leaves short comments on the lines it flags, each one naming the problem, what triggers it and the fix, and the decision to accept the change stays with your developer. Anthropic says most reviews finish in 6 to 10 minutes, and an admin picks Quick, Standard or Deep for each repository, so a routine site gets a lighter pass and a critical system gets a deeper one. Eligible Enterprise organizations can claim at least $10,000 in Code Review credits by January 15, 2027, and those credits expire 30 days after they are claimed. (Anthropic, Claude Code docs)

Price: each review is billed on token usage through usage credits, separate from the usage included in your plan, and Anthropic publishes no flat per review price, while a Claude Team standard seat is $20 per month billed annually or $25 billed monthly (Claude Code docs, Claude pricing)

For your office: if a developer keeps your website, lead forms or internal tools on GitHub and you are on a Claude Team plan, have the owner of your Claude account turn on Code Review at the Quick level with reviews set to run once per pull request, and set a monthly spend limit in the usage settings before the first review runs.

In the industry

Zillow lender marketplace data reported by Yahoo Finance on the morning of October 16 put the 30-year fixed mortgage rate at 7.32%, down 4 basis points from the day before, and the 15-year fixed rate at 6.65%, down 6 basis points, with the 30-year fixed refinance rate at 7.25%. A basis point is one hundredth of a percentage point, and these are the numbers to have in hand when a buyer asks what a payment looks like this weekend. (Yahoo Finance)
