AI Tools Today: new top models from Anthropic and OpenAI, and one marketplace for Claude

This is the first issue of our daily brief on what the AI tools a real estate office actually uses have shipped, with a line on each about what it changes for a brokerage, a property manager or an investment team. Claude Opus 5.5 is cheaper to run and lands on every paid plan

Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 on September 22 and says it costs 40% less to run than Opus 5 on typical workloads, with the lead in agentic coding and knowledge work. It is on the Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans with higher five-hour usage limits, and Anthropic says its answers put the important information up front. (Anthropic)

For your office: long jobs like abstracting a stack of leases or rebuilding a rent roll now fit more comfortably inside a normal plan, so it is worth rerunning the ones that hit the usage limit last month.

OpenAI shipped GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna

The same day, OpenAI released GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna in ChatGPT Work, Codex and the API. They are scaled versions of GPT-6 Astra, the API prices are half of GPT-5.6’s, and OpenAI says Sol makes about half as many mistakes as its predecessor. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans get both models, and free users get Luna on desktop. (OpenAI)

For your office: if your team works in ChatGPT, the model picker in Work changed this week, so check which model your saved workflows and custom GPTs now default to.

The Claude Marketplace puts more than 2,000 connectors in one place

On September 23 Anthropic opened the Claude Marketplace, which lists plugins and connectors, Claude-powered agents and products, and consulting partners in one directory. Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, Notion and Salesforce are among the integrations, and enterprise customers can put part of their committed Anthropic spend toward purchases there. (Claude)

For your office: if your CRM, file storage or project tracker is one of the big names, look for its connector in the marketplace before paying anyone to build a custom integration.

ChatGPT Voice now works with your connected apps

OpenAI’s September 23 release notes say Voice now supports plugins on web, iOS and Android, so the connected apps on your account work during a voice conversation. Voice also arrived in Work, where you can create documents, presentations and spreadsheets and use connected apps by speaking. (OpenAI Help Center)

For your office: an agent between showings can dictate the showing recap straight into a document in the team’s drive and have it there when they get back to the desk.

Gemini gets a live video avatar for businesses

Google released Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar in Gemini Enterprise on September 24. It pairs Gemini’s voice with a lip-synced video avatar that moves across 97 languages, and companies on an allowlist can build a custom avatar from a reference image. Google’s own example is a hotel check-in. (Google)

For your office: a leasing office with multilingual walk-in traffic now has an off-the-shelf way to answer front desk questions after hours, if the company already runs on Gemini Enterprise.

Anthropic and NVIDIA add guardrails for AI agents

On September 28 Anthropic added NVIDIA’s OpenShell runtime to Claude Managed Agents. OpenShell denies every action by default and allows only what a written rule permits, and the setup includes scoped permissions, identity management and an audit trail of what each agent did. OpenShell itself is open source under the Apache 2.0 license. (Unite.AI, NVIDIA)

For your office: once an agent touches tenant records or a bank portal, a written rule set and an audit trail are the first things your compliance lead or your insurer will ask to see, and they now come as a standard part.

Claude Tag, which brings Claude into Slack, now works with your personal connectors inside channels, rolling out on Team plans first. (Claude) Manus launched Manus 2.0 with Studio, including a video editor whose Alchemy mode acts as a creative director and hands you an editable timeline. (Manus)
